People and roles

A universe can be shared with co-writers and readers. Each of them sees the universes they were given and nothing else of yours.

Roles

Everybody who can reach a universe holds a role on it:

Role What it allows
Owner Writing everything, and inviting or removing people
Editor Writing everything in the universe, but not managing who can reach it
Commenter Reading, commenting, and suggesting changes for an editor to accept
Viewer Reading the universe, without changing anything

Whoever made the universe is an owner, and stays one. The admins of the org that owns the universe reach it too. Roles, teams and orgs work the same way across GreenMind's apps; the publishing console's docs explain them in general.

Seeing who can reach a universe

Open the universe's settings and choose People. It lists everybody with a role on the universe, given to them directly or through one of the org's teams, and, opened on a person, every route they reach it by, being an admin of the org included. Your own row is there too.

Giving somebody a role

An owner can:

  • Add somebody already in the org, found by name, with a role straight away;
  • Give a team a role, which everybody in that team of the org then holds for as long as they are in it;
  • invite anybody else with an invitation link. Choose the role, make the link and send it to the person it is for: it can be used once, by whoever opens it while signed in, and stops working after 14 days. Accepting it opens the universe for them.

Open invitations are listed on the same page, where an owner can withdraw one. An owner can also change somebody's role, or take it away, from their row.

Leaving

You can leave a universe from its People page. You lose what you were given there at once, and somebody who manages its people can invite you back.
