Events, eras and factions

These three are what puts a world's history in order. All of them take years, and all of them appear on the timeline.

Events

An event is a dated moment in the world: a battle, a coronation, a discovery. It records its name, when it happened (a start year, an end year for one that lasted, and when in the world's own words), a description, its significance and its impact.

Events lists them earliest first, and Export PDF makes a document of them all (see Exports).

Eras

An era is a named span of history and what happened in it. It records its start and end years, or that it is ongoing, when in the world's own words, a description, and control: who held control during it.

Factions

A faction is a group characters can belong to: an order, an agency, a nation state, a rebellion. It records its kind, its objective, a description, and when it was active, or that it still is.

A faction's page lists the characters who owe or owed it allegiance, each with their role and when. Allegiances are added from either side: on the faction, or on the character (see Characters).
