Getting started

OnlyLore keeps a fictional world consistent as it grows. It stores the facts of a world (who a character's parents were, when an era began, which faction somebody served) and works out the rest from them, so the family tree, the timeline and every character's relatives always agree with what was written.

OnlyLore uses your GreenMind account, the same one you use for every GreenMind game and app. Choose Sign in on onlylore.com, and signing in makes the account if you do not have one yet. The first time you open OnlyLore, and again whenever its terms or privacy policy are revised, it asks you to read and agree to them before you go on.

Make a universe

Everything you write belongs to a universe: one world, with its own characters, events, eras, factions, places, objects and articles. Choose New universe at the top of the sidebar, give it a name, and it opens. The lore home shows a short checklist of first steps until you have done them or dismissed it.

Write your first entries

Once a universe is open, its pages are in the sidebar: Characters, Events, Eras, Factions, Locations, Objects and Articles, each with a New button. Write as much or as little as you know: a field left blank means you have not decided yet, and OnlyLore never fills it in for you. See Entries and links.

Give characters their parents and they appear on the family tree, with their siblings, cousins and other relatives worked out for you. Give entries a year and they appear on the timeline.

Invite somebody

A universe can be shared with co-writers and readers. Open the universe's settings, go to People, and make an invitation link with the role they should have. See People and roles.
